THE WEDDING MARCH

Matchgirl and I finally reconnoitred a few wedding day venues today. Progress was made. However, the top prospects will not be revealed just yet in case we put a jinx on anything.

One that slipped down the rankings was Urquhart Castle. A popular venue it may be, but if the wind blows there's nowhere for brides concerned about their coiffeur to hide. And there’s the long walk from the visitor centre to the castle itself: a courtesy golf buggy for well-heeled wives-to-be does not appear to be an option.

The date of The Great Day has now been narrowed down to autumn, with September front-runner for the honour of hosting the nuptial feast. Don’t mark your diaries yet, though, for there’s plenty of time yet for minds to change.

Many discussions have also taken place about our post-matrimonial abode; all that’s been decided is that we still don’t have a clue where or when we’ll combine our households and create the shining palace where we’ll live happily ever after. It doesn’t do to rush these things.

Internet Update: I feel the need to share with you a website I discovered recently which celebrates the life and times of Mike the Headless Chicken – a rooster who survived eighteen months after having his head chopped off. Really. Honest. Check out the site if you don’t believe me...

Is there some kind of subconscious message in connecting hunting for wedding venues and headless chickens?

:-D

You might think that. I couldn't possibly comment.
